Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, I enjoy spending time outside, especially during our beautiful northwest summers. I value time with my husband and our three children, reading, watching baseball, and refinishing old furniture to give it a second life.

Professional Experience

I graduated in 2014 with a Master of Education degree in Guidance and Counseling, from City University of Seattle, and then spent the following 9 years working as a School Counselor in the public education system. During that time I worked with children, families, and other educators from a wide variety of backgrounds to provide counseling support. I also received additional training in educational neuroscience, mindfulness and yoga, and trauma-informed practices.

In the spring of 2023, I felt that it was time to step away from my work within the schools, so that I could put 100% of my focus into working with individuals as a licensed mental health counselor. This opportunity allows me to use my skills to support clients in a more holistic way, at a deeper level.

*I am currently licensed at an associate level, meaning that I am working towards full licensure through my direct work with clients and continuing education under the supervision of a fully licensed, Washington state approved supervisor.

My Foundational Principles

Non-judgment

Your ability to feel safe and open is vital to the client-therapist relationship. I warmly accept you as who you are, no matter the issue.

Authenticity

I am down-to-earth, and realistic. I strive to show up as a therapist who reflects who I am as a person who has faced personal hardships and life lessons of my own.

Collaboration

Our process together will be collaborative - based on respect, honesty, and compassion. My role as a therapist is to listen, ask questions for deeper understanding, and include you each step of the way in setting goals, choosing strategies or interventions, and making decisions. We will discover what it is that you hope to gain from therapy, and set that as our focus, celebrating wins each step along the way, no matter how big or small.
